NAG ELMASHAYIKH

   Modern name for a site in Upper Egypt close to Nag el-Deir. Ancient Egyptian Behdet-iabett but later called Lepidotonpolis by the Greeks. Apossible tomb from the Old Kingdom and two tombs from the Ramesside Period are located in the nearby cliffs. There are remains of a New Kingdom temple dedicated to the goddess Mehit.
